Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto emphasized to more than 150 judges from across Indonesia that his administration’s policies are firmly based on the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.
The statement came during a meeting at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Thursday afternoon (20/2/2025), attended by key legal figures, including Yusril Ihza Mahendra, the Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections.
“President Prabowo fully understands that the judiciary is an independent institution beyond government interference. However, governing the nation must always refer to the constitution, which binds the judiciary, executive, and legislative branches alike,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The President called on judges to maintain integrity and enforce the law properly, urging their support for major policies. One such measure requires exporters of natural resources to keep 100 percent of their foreign exchange earnings in domestic banks for three months, starting March 1, 2025. The policy, under Government Regulation No. 8 of 2025, aims to safeguard national interests and strengthen economic resilience
