Inp.polri.go.id -  St. Petersburg. President Prabowo Subianto announced that Indonesia welcomes additional direct flights from Russia, not only to Bali but also to other cities across the archipelago.

“We are open to opportunities. Please feel free to increase flights, not only to Bali but also to other cities in Indonesia. We welcome direct flights from Russia,” President Prabowo said during a joint press conference with President Vladimir Putin at Konstantinovsky Palace in St. Petersburg on Thursday (19/6/2025).

The statement followed up on a discussion held between the two leaders in July 2024, during which President Putin expressed Russia’s interest in establishing more direct routes to Indonesia.

Currently, Russia’s largest airline operates three weekly direct flights between Moscow and Bali, increasing to four during the winter season.

President Putin added that both nations are working to simplify travel procedures.

 “We resumed direct flights from Moscow to Bali. In January 2025, we also opened our Consulate General on the island,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The leaders also discussed broader cooperation in trade, investment, and technology.
