Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has directed the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (INP) to assist in identifying highly intelligent children from underprivileged families across Indonesia, as part of a new initiative to develop the nation’s future elite generation.
“We must find them and don’t assume that only children from the middle or upper class are gifted. Many come from poor families with exceptional intelligence,” he said during a cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday (20/10/2025), referring to the Garuda Excellence School program.
The President noted that roughly 1% of any nation’s population has an IQ above 120. With Indonesia’s 287 million citizens, that translates to over two million potentially gifted children who could become valuable assets if properly nurtured.
President Prabowo ordered the education and social ministries to work with the TNI and INP to identify and support these children through full scholarships, aiming to expand Garuda Excellence Schools nationwide.
