Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian government is preparing a plan to distribute farmland to the country’s poorest farmers, classified in income deciles 1 and 2, Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar announced after a cabinet meeting led by President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday (4/11/2025).
“We are finalizing the technical scheme to provide land ownership for farmers in deciles 1 and 2. For those in decile 1, the government will push for land distribution as part of production asset ownership,” he said, as reported by antaranews.com.
The meeting discussed strategies to strengthen rural economic independence and reduce poverty through asset redistribution and community empowerment.
Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya added that the land program aims to build farmers’ self-reliance and productivity.
President Prabowo also ordered restrictions on imported second-hand goods and emphasized digital transformation for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), along with scholarships and training for high school graduates seeking overseas employment.
