Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police’s Criminal Investigation Directorate has officially taken over the case of two charred human skeletons found inside the ACC Kwitang building in Central Jakarta.
“Yes, the case is now being handled by Polda Metro Jaya’s Criminal Investigation Directorate,” said Metro Jaya Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto on Tuesday (4/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
The skeletal remains were discovered on 30 October 2025 by building technicians inspecting the second floor office area damaged by a previous fire during the 29 August 2025 riots. The remains were burned beyond recognition, prompting a forensic investigation at the Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Bhayangkara Hospital in Kramat, including DNA sampling.
Chief Budi confirmed that DNA results are expected soon and will be announced once available. Central Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police Chief Senior Superintendent Susatyo Purnomo Condro earlier said that the discovery was reported during building renovation checks.
Police are determining the victims’ identities and whether the deaths were linked to the earlier fire incident.
