Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has revoked the forest utilization permits of 28 companies found to have violated regulations governing protected forest areas, the State Palace announced on Tuesday (20/1/2026).
The decision was taken during a limited cabinet meeting held online from London on Monday, following an investigation by the Forest Area Enforcement Task Force.
State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said the move targets companies operating illegally in disaster-prone regions, including Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
“The President decided to revoke the permits of 28 companies that were proven to have committed violations,” he told reporters at the Presidential Office in Jakarta, as cited by antaranews.com
Of the total, 22 companies held forest utilization licenses covering more than one million hectares, while six others operated in mining, plantation, and timber sectors.
The State Secretary said the action reflects its commitment to restoring governance in natural resource management, ensuring compliance with the law, and protecting public interests.
