In order to anticipate the rise of Covid-19 cases after the Eid holiday season and the commemoration day of Ascension of Jesus Christ, the Jambi Regional Police distributed 100,000 face masks and 4,000 antigen swabs to Resort Police members on Friday (14 May 2021). During the event, In his remarks, the Chief of Jambi's Regional Police, Police Inspector General Albertus Rachmad Wibowo, said that the distribution of face masks and antigen swabs was an effort to prevent the increasing number of Covid-19 sufferers in the Jambi Province. However, the distribution of masks and antigen swabs will not work effectively if the community is not disciplined in implementing health protocols during this pandemic, such as always wearing masks, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds, reducing mobility, and constantly washing hands in running water. "Therefore, the importance of implementing this health protocol must be implemented by the people, especially when entering public areas such as offices or before entering the house after returning from activities. Because based on the joint application against Covid-19, Jambi Province is included in an area with moderate risk, this condition must be continued to be guarded and fought for until it becomes a little risk," added the Jambi's Regional Police Chief. "Even though it's a bit difficult to turn it into an area without risk at all, because Jambi Province adjoin each other and becomes a route for residents from other provinces where the risk of spreading Covid-19 is higher, especially during the week leading up to Eid Mubarak, there is a shift in Covid-19 sufferers from Java Island to Sumatra Island which is marked by the increase in the occupancy of hospital isolation beds in Jambi Province," concluded the Jambi's Regional Police Chief.
