inp.polri.go.id - PEKANBARU. Riau Regional Police Chief, Pol. Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi, together with Commander of Regional Military 031/WB Brigadier General M Syech Ismed, was accompanying Riau Governor Syamsuar to release the food distribution team for people affected by Covid-19, which was held at the Riau LAM Hall Courtyard, Diponegoro Avenue Pekanbaru, Friday (07/23/2021). Also present at the release were the Riau Island Leader Communication Forum, Riau Attorney General's Office Jaja Subagja, Chairman of the Riau Malay Traditional Institute, Datuk Seri Al Azhar, General Chair of the Riau LAM DPH, Datuk Seri Syahril Abubakar. In his remarks, the Governor of Riau said that the implementation of this activity was to prepare a public kitchen whose purpose was to provide food for underprivileged communities affected by Covid-19, especially in Pekanbaru City. Later, this shared kitchen will be from the Military Resort Command, Regional Police, Mobile Brigade, and Tagana, namely the Disaster Preparedness Officer from the Riau Province Social Service. This is all a form of our concern for the people affected by Covid-19. In addition, the Riau Police Chief also added that during the current Covid-19 pandemic, there are no people who lack food. For this reason, his party has given rice to people who are implementing Community Activity Restrictions. We all know that several regions have held meetings with district/city governments. All social assistance from the government or direct cash assistance provided by the government can be immediately delivered to affected communities. This includes rice assistance for disasters which can also be given to our residents affected by Covid-19. For this reason, I hope that there is a commitment from all parties to always comply with health protocols as a concrete manifestation to break the chain of transmission of Covid-19. Because we do not know when it will end, and now there is an increase in various areas including Riau Province, concluded the Riau Police Chief. (sm/bq/hy)
