inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Office is currently drafting maritime security regulations. The drafting of the regulations was carried out by the Security, Safety, and Law Enforcement team in Indonesian Waters and Indonesian Jurisdiction Areas (KKPH).
The study was appreciated by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Hadi Tjahjanto, when leading the meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs office, Jakarta.
"The preparation of the study results is the responsibility of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs and Indonesian Coast Guard (Bakamla) which must be completed no later than the end of December 2024. And I thank the Research Team for being able to complete this study faster than the specified time," said the Coordinating Minister Hadi on Wednesday (10/16/2024).
In his statement, he said that the study on the synchronization of KKPH regulations was purely academic. He guaranteed that there was no economic or political interest that would benefit certain parties/groups.
In addition, the study involved various groups, both academics from within the country and from abroad. Then, marine user community groups such as INSA, KNT and HNSI are also involved.
"So that the results will be more objective and can be used as basic materials for the development of academic manuscripts related to marine security regulations," he explained.
Furthermore, he also conveyed the results of the study that had been formulated to be immediately submitted for a follow-up so it can be immediately reported to the President.
"We hope that these study results can be considered as a reference framework in determining KKPH policies for the next government," he explained.
