inp.polri.go.id - Riau Police arrested a total of 18 perpetrators suspected of hoarding subsidized diesel. The actions carried out by these perpetrators are the one who caused the scarcity of diesel fuel.
"These 18 perpetrators are from our arrest in 14 related cases," explained the Head of Public Relations of the Riau Police, Commissioner Sunarto, Wednesday (17/08/22).
Police Commissioner Sunarto said that 12 cases were handled by the Special Criminal Investigation Directorateof the Riau Police, while the other two were handled by Rokan Hilir Police and Rokan Hulu Police respectively.
The Head of Public Relations of the Riau Police explained there are many various ways the perpetrators conduct their criminal action, among others is by transporting subsidized fuel from public fuel stations (SPBU) in a car whose tank has been modified.
“We charged these perpetrators by Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police, Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas, and Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation,” said the Police Commissioner. He adds that the maximum punishment is 6 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rp60 Million.
