inp.polri.go.id – Pekanbaru. The Riau Regional Police launched a technology-based application to deal with people confirmed to be Covid-19. The application was launched in Meranti Islands Regency, Wednesday (10/06/2021).
The purpose of this application is to anticipate the spike in the third wave of the spread of the Corona Virus by prioritizing the movement of tracing officers in the field.
The launch of the sophisticated application "Together Save Riau" (BSR) was carried out directly by the Riau Police Chief, Inspector General. Pol. Agung Setya Imam Effendi, the Regent of the Meranti Islands Muhammad Adil, the Head of the Meranti Island Resort Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Andi Yul and also attended by the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum of the Meranti Island Regency Government, taking the launching location in the green building of the Regent's office.
The Riau Regional Police Chief revealed that the BSR application aims to ensure that people in Riau who are confirmed to have Covid-19 can be handled optimally, starting from data validation, verification, drug administration to evacuation to hospitals and centralized isolation areas. Furthermore, everything is dealt with optimally and in detail so that Covid-19 does not spread widely, especially in family clusters that are in close contact.
"This is also one way to make it easier for all of us to carry out our duties, preventing the transmission of Covid-19 to our brothers and sisters. Warning of the third wave of the spread of Covid-19, which we hope can be prevented in Riau, in addition to the acceleration of the vaccine that continues to run. With the BSR application, tracing officers can more easily verify, making it more valid," explained the Riau Regional Police Chief.
The two-star general emphasized that the application is a manifestation of hard work and evidence that the state is here for the community to prevent and handle Covid-19. Agung wants the death rate in Riau due to exposure to Corona can be suppressed, and the community gets optimal health services through the BSR application that was launched.
In addition to the Meranti Islands Regency, the BSR application has also been enabled in all regencies spread across Riau through the existing Polres network.
The Riau Police Chief explained that around 1,800 tracers from his ranks were assigned to serve the community.
Thus, we hope that this application will significantly reduce the transmission rate, he explained.
The working system of the BSR Application is integrated information, by processing data from the centre, for people whom Covid has confirmed. The data is also followed up by officers (Tracers) in their respective regions, with the aim of validation. The Tracer officer then reports back using the BSR application in detail regarding the actions that have been taken. Through this report, follow-up actions can be taken so that the handling of confirmed persons can be optimal.
Interestingly, the tracers also receive compensation sourced from the National Police Headquarters budget through the Riau Police, depending on each person being followed up by the tracers. Even payment is received directly into their hands, which is also channelled through the BSR Application.
The Riau Regional Police Chief said that evaluations would continue to be carried out in applying this BSR application, aiming to make its function more optimal.
"We'll see and maybe evaluate what needs to be improved. We hope that this application can help ease the task of handling Covid in all areas in Riau," explained the Riau Regional Police Chief. "
The launch of the BSR application was positively welcomed by the Regent of the Meranti Islands, Muhammad Adil. Adil said that integrated technological innovations would make it easier for officers in the field to handle them. This, of course, maximizes the coordination between members of the Police and health workers.
"This is an integrated technological innovation. Hopefully, the application can facilitate the coordination of all members of the National Police with health workers so that they can handle and break the spread of Covid in the Meranti Islands. In that case, steady," explained the Regent of the Meranti Islands.
