Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Ministry of Forestry has officially revoked the conservation license of the Tamansari Wildlife Foundation, the long-standing operator of Bandung Zoo in a bid to protect hundreds of animals from ongoing administrative disputes between the foundation and the Bandung City administration. 

While the city secures the land as a regional asset, the Ministry has assumed direct responsibility for the animals' care for a transition period of up to three months until a professional operator is appointed.

“The state cannot allow animals to become victims of administrative issues. This revocation is carried out to ensure the animals at Bandung Zoo are protected and not neglected,” said Satyawan Pudiyatmoko, the Director General of KSDAE at the Ministry of Forestry,on Thursday (5/2/2026), as cited by antaranews.com

Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan said that the takeover is a joint effort between central and regional authorities to preserve the site as a public green space. Officials guaranteed that despite the management change, the animals' welfare and safety remain the highest priority.
