Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)[‘s Traffic Police Corps Chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho stressed that the five pillars of the National General Plan for Road Traffic and Transport Safety (RUNK LLAJ) form the foundation for reducing accidents nationwide.
The framework covers safety management, safer roads, safer vehicles, safer road user behavior, and post-crash response.
“Efforts to reduce accidents are not solely the task of the police, but a joint responsibility of all stakeholders through RUNK LLAJ,” Chief Agus said on Thursday (28/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Human error remains the leading cause of traffic accidents, prompting the Traffic Corps to intensify law enforcement, education, and public awareness campaigns. The pillars also emphasize quick emergency response, road infrastructure improvements, and mandatory safety standards for vehicles, including ABS brakes, seat belts, and airbags.
