Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. The Indonesian Navy has removed 18.7 kilometers of sea fence along the northern coast of Tangerang, Banten, out of a total 30.16 kilometers planned for removal.
The Head of the Navy's Information Service, First Admiral I Made Wira Hady, said that the removal process involves a joint team of the Navy, Police, Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), and local fishermen. The operation is ongoing in the waters of Tanjung Pasir, Teluknaga, Mauk, and Kronjo districts.
"The remaining sea fence measures 11.46 kilometers," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com on Tuesday (28/1/2025).
Admiral Hady noted that the operation faces challenges, including weather conditions and large fish cages, which hinder ship movements.
The sea fence initially stretched across 16 villages in six districts of Tangerang.
