Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang.  Soekarno-Hatta Airport City Sub-regional Police prevented 14 non-procedural Indonesian migrant workers from being illegally sent to Cambodia at different times across the airport terminals.

“The victims and the two men who were organizing the illegal departures were detained during the Non-procedural Migrant Worker Prevention Operation," Senior Inspector Reza Fahlevi, the Head of the Soekarno Hatta Airport Police, confirmed on Monday (16/9/2024)

The first group of eight workers was detained on Wednesday at Terminal 2, followed by additional detention on Friday and Saturday, bringing the total to 14 workers, as reported by antaranews.com.

The workers, mostly men, claimed they were promised jobs in Cambodia, ranging from restaurant workers to customer service and online gaming admins involved in illegal activities.

However, none could provide the proper documentation required to work abroad.

Investigations revealed that the job offers were made through the Telegram messaging app by a recruiter now under investigation.
