Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The House of Representatives is moving forward with a bill that would downgrade the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) into a new agency called the SOE Administration Body. 

The measure is part of the fourth amendment to the SOE Law.

“The body will remain as its own entity, called the SOE Administration Body,” said Deputy House Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad on Wednesday (24/9/2025), stressing that it will not merge with the state wealth fund authority, BPI Danantara.

Lawmakers argue the change is needed as most ministerial functions have already shifted to BPI Danantara, leaving the SOEs Ministry with limited roles such as approving corporate regulations and representing the state as a Series A shareholder.

The draft law also incorporates Constitutional Court rulings, including restrictions preventing deputy ministers from holding commissioner posts in SOEs. DPR aims to finalize deliberations before the current session ends on 2 October 2025.
