The Jakarta administration has rolled out sweeping tax relief measures, covering property, land transfers, vehicles, advertising, and cultural events, in a bid to ease financial pressure on residents and businesses, as Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo signed the new policy on Wednesday (24/9/2025).

“Today I signed a governor’s decree on the reduction and exemption of local taxes,” he said at City Hall, stressing the relief aims to support fair taxation while providing incentives for the economy.

Under the scheme, first-time homebuyers will receive a 50 percent cut on property acquisition tax, while new rights managed by the city get a 75 percent reduction. Private schools run by foundations will enjoy a full exemption on property tax, up from 50 percent previously, according to antaranews.com. 

The policy also includes a 50 percent cut for cultural, educational, and charity events, full exemption for indoor advertising in cafes and shops, and lighter motor vehicle tax rates.
