Solidarity in Action, Institutions in East Nusa Tenggara Lend Their Hands to Help Mount Lewotobi Eruption Refugees

inp.polri.go.id - East Flores. Personnel of East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police held a social activity of providing aid to the victims of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki eruption in East Flores Regency on Saturday (11/9/2024).

The East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police along with other institutions, organizations, and communities do the social activities to ease the burden of the victims who were forced to evacuate due to the disaster.

A total of 10,777 refugees are currently spread across various posts in East Adonara, Ile Mandiri, Titehena, Wulanggitang, Ile Bura, Demon Pagong, Larantuka, and Sikka Districts.

Logistical assistance coming from various sources, ranging from the Ministry of Social Affairs, the National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB), State Electricity Company social organizations, school alumni, to caring communities, continues to flow to refugee posts to ensure that the refugees' needs are met.

The assistance provided includes basic necessities, ready-to-eat food, masks, clothes, mattresses, blankets, and various other basic equipment.

All distributions are directed to the public kitchens at each post so that refugees can receive their basic needs evenly.

The Head of East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Public Relations Division, Senior Superintendent Arriasandy says that his party is committed to help the refugees to the fullest.

“We hope the situation can return to normal so people can go back to their homes safely,” said Ariasandy.

With this strong solidarity, all parties hope that the conditions can get better. And in the midst of this difficult situation, collaboration between agencies in East Nusa Tenggara has shown a real symbol of solidarity for those in need.
