Inp.polri.go.id - Kalianda. The South Lampung Sub-regional Police gave food assistance on Wednesday (26/2/2025) to a man caught stealing four bunches of bananas in Rajabasa Village, South Lampung.

“We are committed to supporting the community while sharing moral lessons,” said South Lampung Police Chief Superintendent  Yusriandi Yusrin, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The suspect, identified as JI, reportedly stole the bananas to meet daily needs. A community mediation session, locally known as Rembuk Pekon, between suspect JI and the victim, Junaidi, ended with a peaceful resolution.

Village head Agus Sahroni thanked the police’s humane approach, saying it could prevent future offenses.

Rembuk Pekon serves as a traditional mechanism involving community leaders and law enforcement to resolve disputes amicably.
