inp.polri.go.id - To support the police duties in waters, four police resorts in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) received a Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) each from the NTT Police, Thursday (18/8/2022). The four Resort Police were the Manggarai Police, the Southwest Sumba Police, the Lembata Police and the Rote Ndao Police.
They handover of RIB was at NTT Regional Police Water and Air Police HQ, Thursday (8/18), marked by the signing of the handover minutes and proof of spending of Head Logistics Bureau of NTT Police, Commissioner R. Dadik Junaedi Supri Hartono.
NTT Police Chief, Inspector General Setyo Budiyanto, Deputy Chief of the NTT Police, Brigadier General Heri Sulistianto and the Water and Air Police Director, Commissioner Nyoman Budiarja, then handed over the keys and the manual book of RIB to the Manggarai Police Chief, Southwest Sumba Police Chief, Rote Ndao Deputy Police Chief, and Deputy Police Chief of Lembata.
The four RIB was initially given to the NTT Regional Police. However, because of they already have their own RIB, they decided to give the boat to the Resort Polices in NTT who have territorial waters.
"With some of these considerations, I decided to hand it over to the ranks of the Resort Police that have territorial waters, who already have a water police unit or about to form that unit," explained the NTT Police Chief.
The RIB has an engine capacity of 300 PK times 2. The ship is not devoted to patrols, therefore the ship must be managed specifically.
"The police chief must be able to manage this ship well. Whether it is related to SAR or to help the community. In general, the presence of this ship can increase the strength of Resort Polices who get this ship," he said.
