Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Head of the National Population and Family Planning Agency Hasto Wardoyo suggest free lunch program would also target pregnant women to effectively combat stunting cases.
"In combatting stunting, I hope there is modification in free lunch progam to include pregnant women. I hope they would be given much better food packages, such as milk and vitamin," said Head of BKKBN on Saturday (3/9/2024).
He states that pregnant women could be given processed food, although he suggested to provide them with more food containing animal protein to effectively suppress the stunting.
"For me, I prefer the pregnant women to be given food in packages to effectively combat stunting cases," suggest the Head of BKKBN
He also adds that the cost of IDR 15,000 for free lunch program by the government is enough if only for the supplements for pregnant women.
He reminds others about the government target of suppressing stubting cases to 14% for this year to be realized.
"Why we have to combat stunting? Because if our stunting case is high, we could not achieve the demographic bonus. If we want to be freed from being in the middle, we should prevent stunting cases as early as possible," said BKKBN Head.
