inp.polri.go.id - Surabaya. The Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) of Surabaya Sub-regional Police was able to serve 3,119 portions of Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) to 16 schools in Krembangan District, Surabaya.

Head of the Kemala Bhayangkari Foundation, Inge Luthfie, as the manager of Surabaya Sub-regional Police SPPG, said that her party strives to provide the best service to the students.

“From picking and selecting the ingredients, to the cooking process, we always try to give our best for the students,” said Inge on Thursday (10/2/2025).

Inge explained that the SPPG also empowers the locals who have been employed to manage the kitchen.

The SPPG raw ingredients provider, Sugneg, said that SPPG has brought positive impact to the local community.

“We, as the suppliers, have directly felt the benefit of SPPG. The ongoing daily demand keeps the local community economy keep going,” said Sugeng.

According to Sugeng, the MBG program also encourages increased purchasing power. "This is indeed the main goal of this program, so that the people's economy can thrive," he said.

Meanwhile, one of the SPPG cooks, Nur Fauzi, expressed his gratitude for being able to return to work in food production through this program.

"With this SPPG, I can provide for my family. Every day I start cooking at 1:00 a.m. WIB and work until around 12:00 p.m. WIB. I am proud that the results of our cooking can be enjoyed by the students," he said.

This shows that the Free Nutritious Meal Program has succeeded in improving the nutritional quality of schoolchildren and empowering the community's economy through collaboration between various parties, including the police, local governments, and local businesses.
