Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  A teenager, who fatally stabbed his father and grandmother and injured his mother in South Jakarta’s Lebak Bulus area, was sentenced to two years of institutional rehabilitation at Sentra Handayani, East Jakarta.

"He has been sentenced to two years at Sentra Handayani," said South Jakarta District Court spokesperson Rio Barten Pasaribu after Monday’s (30/6/2025 ) ruling,as quoted by antaranews.com.

The sentence will be reduced by time already served. The convict, identified as MAS (14), is also required to undergo psychiatric treatment with progress reports submitted to the prosecutor every six months.

His legal counsel, Maruf Bajammal, disagreed with the ruling, arguing he should have been declared not criminally responsible due to mental disability.

The court did not fully consider expert testimony, he said.

The attack occurred on 30 November 2024. The teenager had reportedly experienced disturbing hallucinations and showed signs of mental health issues. The case was tried behind closed doors.
