The 12 Demonstrations in East Java Went Smoothly and Orderly

inp.polri.go.id – The demonstrations from various elements of society, including the youth organizations and the university students, who are against the increase in fuel prices were held in various points in East Java, Wednesday (9/7). Based on the data gathered by the police, the demonstrations was held in 12 different locations throughout East Java, and most of them went smoothly and orderly. The East Java Police Chief, Inspector General Nico Afinta, confirmed that the security in demonstrations against the increase in fuel prices in the 12 different locations went amoothly. The demonstrations was held in front of the office of East Java House of Representative, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, City and District Government offices. “The mass voiced their aspiration in rejecting the increase in fuel prices,” he said. To strengthen their security in those 12 different locations, the ranks of East Java Police deployed their personnel in accordance to the number of the masses. In total, there are thousands of personnel in securing the demonstrations. “We, the Police, will provide our service to the community and ready to safeguard the people who wants to voice their aspirations,” stressed the East Java Police Chief. He also conveyed his gratitude to the people who conveyed their aspirations peacefully and orderly, and also complied with the applicable law. “The expression in conveying the aspirations publicly is regulated and guaranteed by law, and should not be carried out with anarchy or damaging public facilities," he explained. Besides that, he also asked the people not to be easily provoked and infiltrated by irresponsible individuals who desires only chaos in the demonstration
