The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) enact the Yogyakarta Cosmological Axis as one of Indonesia heritage during the 45th World Heritage Committee (WHC). The meeting, which was attended by the Vice Governor of Yogyakarta Sri Paduka Paku Alam X, the Yogyakarta Cosmological Axis is fully accepted without rebuttal as the World Culture Heritage. “Congratulations to Indonesia for the qualifying Cosmological Axis of Yogyakarta as the World Culture Heritage,” said the Chairperson World Heritage Committee Abdulelah Al-Tokhais in his official statement received in Yogyakarta, Tuesday (9/19/2023). “We would to offer our gratitude to UNESCO and the community for the support of Philosophy Axis preservation as the world heritage. Our Cosmological Axis has good universal values for the present and future human civilizations,” said the Governor of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X. The Cosmological Axis, according to Sri Sultan is a cultural heritage that has high philosophy in it, which urge them to preserve it along with all the attributes that accompany it. Sri Sultan hopes that with the stipulation of the heritage, its universal values could be studied across the world to build a better new world in the future. “This sublime value hopefully could be an inspiration and be the reference to realize a better world,” hoped Sri Sultan.
