inp.polri.go.id – Medan. A total of 1 Company Level Unit (SSK) personnel from the North Sumatra Police (Polda Sumut) Mobile Brigade Unit (Satbrimob) was dispatched to Papua. The dispatch of Under Operational Control (BKO) troops, was led directly by the North Sumatran Police Chief (Kapolda Sumut) Inspector General Drs. R.Z. Panca Putra Simanjuntak, M.Sc.., during a troop rally held in the KS Tubun Police HQ field. During the troop rally, the Deputy Chief of the North Sumatra Police (Wakapolda Sumut), Brigadier General Dr. H. Dadang Hartanto, S.H., S.I.K., M.Sc., Irwasda Polda Sumut, Commissioner Drs. Armia Fahmi, the Commander of Satbrimob, and the high officials of Polda Sumut, were also present. Kapolda Sumut said that the dispatched was done after the government announced the expansion of new areas in Papua. The BKO Brimob troops from Polda Sumut are led by AKP Alponso J Nasution, S.H., and will later be stationed at the Jayapura Police. During the rally, Kapolda Sumut conducted a direct inspection of the personnel's equipment preparations, including weapons and ammunition. "You are trusted to carry out BKO duties at the Papua Regional Police in order to support the developments of Papua province. You are the riot management unit in supporting the government policies in the formation of new autonomy in Papua, and you will be integrated into the Papua Regional Police who will be placed at the Jayapura City Police," explained Kapolda Sumut. Kapolda Sumut, also tested the personnel's skills regarding procedures if a riot broke out, one of which was the use of bullets type and other equipment. In addition, Kapolda Sumut also conveyed six important directions so that the personnel would always be able to take a humanist approach to local residents and not make mistakes. He also stressed the unit to pay attention to their own safety, comply with the protocols that have been ordered by their leaders, and must be able to follow the directions given. They will be operated in Papua for a month, from June 24th to July 23rd. In a separate place, the Commander of the Brimob Unit of Polda Sumut, Commissioner Christiyanto Goetomo, S.I.K., S.H., M.H., said that apart from Polda Sumut, the Riau Police also sends their Mobile Brigade Unit to Papua.
