The International Relations Divisions of the National Police held a Peacekeeper socialization and English Competency Test (EST) for the West Kalimantan Police personnel at Graha Khatulistiwa room of West Kalimantan HQ, Wednesday (8/3). The opening of the Peacekeeper socialization and the EST was led by the West Kalimantan Police Chief, Inspector General Suryabondo, and attended by the Deputy Chief of the West Kalimantan Police, all of its main officials, and all of the participants. The Police Chief stated that the program is aimed to improve and prepare the personnel who are able to speak English “This program aimed to develop our personnel capacity so that they can participate in various seminars and studies abroad, become the police attache, police technical staff, escort on foregin ambassadors, and participating in UN International Missions as peacekeepers,” said Inspector General Suryabondo. The UN Peacekeeping Mission is also one part of diplomacy and international cooperation between the Indonesian National Police and police from other countries. Since 1989, the Indonesian Police have played an active role in sending troops, called the Garuda Bhayangkara Task Force, and the Indonesian National Police ranked 10th as the largest personnel deployment on UN International Missions. Indonesian should be proud of this achievement, the West Kalimantan Police themselves have sent 27 personnel since 2017 to join the UN Peacekeeping Mission. The Head Division of National Police International Relations said that this program is also to know the cappabilites of their personnel, especially the West Kalimantan Police, in handling the missions abroad. “This activity is also follow up the order of the National Police Chief in improving the cappabilites of police personnel and also establishing the data base which would make us easier in sending our personnel abroad,” said the Two-Star General.
