inp.polri.go.id - The National Police Traffic Corps believes that IT-based law enforcement with ETLE can change human behavior in driving. “Our evaluation for the previous year is that we believe ETLE could change human behavior in driving,” the Directorate of Law Enforcement of Traffic Corps, Brigadier General of Police, Aan Suhanan told when attending the Forum Group Discussion for the primary data collection of the 6th edition of the Indonesian traffic safety record, held at Four Point Manado Hall, North Sulawesi, Thursday (7/21). He stated that the changes of human behavior in driving can be seen after the implementation of ITLE by seeing the declining of traffic law violation. “There is a decline in traffic law violation, and this becomes one of the indicators of a good change in human behavior when driving,” he explained. Brigadier General Aan Suhanan explained by taking a look at the traffic in Sudirman area, Jakarta, where the ETLE is installed, the drivers are much more obliged to the traffic laws, even when there is a traffic jam. “This kind of innovations will be further developed because it has a tight correlation with driving behavior. If the driving behavior is fixed for the better, then it will directly gave a huge impact in increasing the safety on the road,” explained Brigadier General Aan. He also encouraged that IT-based law enforcement will continually be further developed.
