Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged Indonesian citizens in the Netherlands to remain vigilant as extreme winter weather continues to affect much of Europe, although no serious impact on citizens has been reported so far.
“As of now, there are no reports of Indonesian nationals being significantly affected, aside from disruptions to public transportation,” the ministry’s Directorate for Citizen Protection said in a written statement on Wednesday (7/1/2026), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The advisory was issued after the Dutch Meteorological Institute (KNMI) declared an Orange Code warning for most regions due to snow and icy conditions, with Yellow Code alerts in Limburg and the Wadden Islands.
The ministry advised Indonesians to monitor official weather updates, limit non-essential travel, and contact emergency services if needed.
Through the Indonesian Embassy in The Hague, authorities are conducting close monitoring, coordinating with local officials, and disseminating alerts via official channels to ensure citizen safety.
