Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. TikTok’s “LIVE” feature is once again available in Indonesia after being voluntarily suspended for three days following the discovery of provocative protest-related content.
As of Tuesday (2/9/2025) at 4.30 pm local time, users could resume livestreaming, with many small businesses already returning to live shopping sessions, according to antaranews.com.
“We will establish communication with TikTok and we understand the impact on SMEs and communities that rely on live features for their activities,” Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria told reporters.
The temporary suspension, effective from 30 August 2025, was described by TikTok as an additional safety measure. Its reactivation comes amid government concerns over the platform’s role in facilitating commerce for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
TikTok Shop has also resumed live shopping, enabling sellers to showcase and sell products in real time.
