inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Head of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, revealed several security focuses for Operation Ketupat 2026, or the 2026 Eid homecoming security operation.

"In preparation for Operation Ketupat, we are of course preparing the toll roads, taking into account the dynamics of toll roads," said Agus on Thursday (2/26/2026). He explained that the toll roads are expected to experience significant traffic volumes, requiring proper management.

"The projection is that 3.6 million vehicles will travel on the toll roads leading to the Trans Java and Sumatra Toll Roads," he continued. To manage congestion on the toll roads, the INP Traffic Corps will collaborate with relevant stakeholders.

"We have prepared traffic management scenarios, including diversions and security measures. There will be contraflow and one-way traffic, including on the operational toll roads, including the South Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek-Cikampek) and the South Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek-Dua) toll roads. We will use these for return traffic and several functional toll roads," explained Agus.

The next focus will be arterial roads and the Merak-Bakauheni and Ketapang ferry ports. Finally, the security operation will focus on places of worship and tourist attractions. He stated that the Traffic Corps has identified the locations of places of worship and roads leading to tourist attractions.

The Traffic Corps Chief stated that Operation Ketupat 2026 is expected to take place from March 13-26, 2026. However, he could not yet provide details.
