Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy hopes that the celebration of 2024 Chinese New Year would boost foreign tourism in the country, as various top destinations have been prepared for the holiday celebration. “We have designed a road map for the Chinese New Year holiday for Jakarta, Surakarta, Semarang, Palembang, Singkawang, and West Kalimantan tourist destinations. This holiday potentially could attract the attention of 14.3 million foreign tourists,” said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno on Monday (1/29/2024). Moreover, the Minister also urge the developers and local community to uphold their root cultures. Tourist destinations in Jakarta that will celebrate the Chinese New Year are in Glodok and Petak, while in Semarang will be around Kauman and Central Semarang with their iconic parade of Sam Poo Kong statue parade. In Solo, Pasar Gede would also present the attraction of Grebek Sudiro in celebrating the Chinese New Year. Moreover, the Chinese New Year celebration would also be celebrated in Palembang, at Kemaro Island with their Barongsai attraction. The Karisma Event Nusantara will also present Cap Go Meh Festival in Singkawang, West Kalimantan. “To all parties involved, we urged you to maintain the cleanliness and the security of the place, especially during the event,” conclude Sandiaga.
