inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Transmigration Ministry built 454 toilets and renovated 500 schools in the transmigration area across 2025 as a revitalization program to repair basic infrastructure and improve education service quality for the locals.

“Last year (2025), we have built 454 toilets in 154 transmigration areas, and also renovated more than 500 schools,” says the Transmigration Minister, Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanegara on Thursday (2/12/2026).

Sulaiman says that the revitalization program is one of the main focuses of his tenure. The government is currently listing various old issues, particularly the land issues, basic infrastructure, health facility, and educational service in the transmigration area.

He emphasized that infrastructure revitalization is carried out as there are still many transmigration areas that have limited facilities.

The construction of 454 toilets were meant to fix basic sanitation as this move hopefully could boost the health of students and improve the learning activities in school.

 On the other hand, the renovation of 500 schools were also carried out considering the concerning condition of the said schools. In several locations, one toilet is used by hundreds of students and some even are broken without any water.

“We are sorry and we are aware that the condition is concerning. Yes, it is true, there is one school with 121 students where they only have one toilet,” said Sulaiman.
