Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi reaffirmed that the joint decree regulating freight transport will remain unchanged to ensure smooth Eid homecoming traffic.
Responding to the Indonesian Trucking Association (Aptrindo) planning a nationwide strike on 20 March 2025, he emphasized that revising the policy could worsen road conditions.
“If we revise it now, what do you think will happen to the roads? Imagine the chaos,” Minister Dudy said after a coordination meeting with government agencies and transport companies.
The minister acknowledged that some freight operators oppose the restrictions but stressed that minimizing congestion is the government’s priority.
“Not everyone will be happy, but my focus is on ensuring travelers can return home safely and comfortably,” he added, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Strict measures will be enforced on major toll roads, including Jakarta-Merak and Jakarta-Cikampek, to prevent disruptions. Despite the resistance., Minister Dudy urged stakeholders to support the policy
