inp.polri.go.id – The police of Makassar managed to apprehend two methamphetamine drug dealers and managed to secure 7.4 kilograms of methamphetamine with an estimated value of Rp10 billion. Makassar Police Chief, Police Commissioner Budi Haryanto revealed that the two methamphetamine dealers who were arrested are R (27) and M (21). The police arrested the perpetrators at their hide out on Maccini Street, Makassar City, South Sulawesi. "Both of them are referred to as dealers because they lived at a warehouse or storage place for the methamphetamine," he explained, Thursday (21/7/22). According to Commissioner Budi Haryanto, the disclosure of the case began when his party received information from the public regarding the alleged drug trafficking in large quantities on Jalan Maccini. From this information, his team conducted a series of investigations, and then managed to arrest R and M. "Thanks to the information from the public, the members able to initially found 12 grams of the drugs. Then, after further development, we are able to found the 7.4 kilograms of methamphetamine which was hid in the room of one of these perpetrators," explained the Makassar Police Chief. The Head of Makassar Police Narcotics Unit, AKBP Doly M Tanjung continued that the two perpetrators were suspected of being involved in an international drug network that had been operated for a long time. For their actions, the two perpetrators were charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 sub-Article 112 paragraph 2 of Law 35/2009 concerning narcotics with the maximum sentence of capital punishment, life imprisonment or a 20 years of imprisonment.
