Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Inspector General Aan Suhanan, the Indonesian National Police (INP) Head of the Traffic Corps, said on Saturday (3/8/2024) that the removal of vehicle registration and identification data aims to improve data accuracy.
He explained that vehicle owners can request data removal for several reasons, including vehicles severely damaged in accidents, those changing from public to private use, or stolen vehicles that need to be blocked.
"Requests can be made for vehicles that have been heavily damaged, converted from public to private use, or reported as lost," Chief Aan said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
He emphasized that vehicles used as evidence in traffic accidents, violations, or crimes must be retrieved within seven years to avoid data removal.
“If your vehicle is lost and used for illegal activities, retrieve it before data deletion. Once removed, the vehicle cannot be re-registered,” Chief Aan added.
He also stressed that timely tax payments and vehicle registration renewals contribute to road safety and order.
