Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Senior Superintendent Aswin Siregar, the spokesperson for the Anti-Terror Special Squad Densus 88, revealed that the terror suspect from Batu, Malang, East Java purchased bomb-making materials with money saved from his parents.
“The funds used were from his personal savings and pocket money given by his parents," he said on Saturday (3/8/2024), as quoted by antaranews.com..
The suspect, identified as HOK (19), admitted that he had the explosive materials sent to his home, where his parents were aware of the deliveries.
“We encourage family members to act immediately if they notice such activities,” Chief Aswin added.
The suspect, who planned a suicide bombing targeting a place of worship, was arrested on 31 July 2024 in Batu. Subsequent searches revealed chemical liquids and enhancement materials for the bomb. Suepect HOK had learned bomb-making techniques online and is suspected of being affiliated with ISIS.
Brigadier GeneralTrunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, the Indonesian National Police (INP) Public Relations Division Head of Public Information, assured that Densus 88 continues its preventive and legal measures against terrorism.
Suspect HOK faces charges under the anti-terrorism laws.
