Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Yandri Susanto met with the Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief of the Criminal Investigation Agency Commissioner General Wahyu Widada on Wednesday (19/2/2025) to address allegations of village fund misuse.
"If these cases are acted upon, hopefully, others won’t dare to follow. But if left unchecked, we fear more village heads will do the same," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
According to data from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), during January–June 2024, some village heads diverted funds for illegal activities, including online gambling, personal expenses, and unauthorized recipients.
The Minister urged the INP Criminal Investigation Agency to invesstigate these cases, ensuring village funds contribute to economic equality and poverty eradication in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s Astacita vision.
Earlier, the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) revealed fund misappropriation cases in Sumatra and Papua, with amounts ranging from Rp 50 million to Rp 260 million spent on online gambling.
