inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka delivered four strategic directives to related ranks, including the regional government, PT Pelindo, and technical ministries, in handling the fuel shortage in Bengkulu.

He said this while directly reviewing the Pulau Baai Port, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) Bengkulu, Tuesday (5/27/2025).

The review was carried out as a follow-up to the report on the fuel shortage in Bengkulu and the disruption of the supply chain of basic necessities to Enggano Island.

In his first directive, the Vice President emphasized that the government prioritizes this condition and will handle it with measured and serious steps. As directed by President Prabowo Subianto, everything that concerns the interests of the people must be a priority.

Second, Gibran asked PT Pelindo to immediately accelerate the process of dredging the shipping lanes affected by sedimentation to ensure that logistics routes, especially the distribution of energy and basic necessities, can run smoothly again.

Third, while waiting for the dredging process to be completed, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), PT Pertamina, or the local government will ensure the smooth distribution of fuel through alternative routes, especially land.

Lastly, Gibran emphasized that he would directly monitor the progress of handling this matter, both through periodic reports from the Ministry of ESDM, the Bengkulu Provincial Government, Pertamina, and Pelindo, to ensure that the entire process runs according to plan and is on target.

The Vice President also apologized to the people of Bengkulu for the inconvenience and disruption caused by the disruption of logistics and energy distribution in the area.

This visit emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring the smooth flow of national logistics in line with President Prabowo's vision to build Indonesia from the periphery and strengthen maritime sovereignty.
