inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto called for solidarity from ASEAN and Gulf countries towards the humanitarian conflict in Palestine while speaking at the 2nd ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Tuesday (5/27/2025).

"The sorrow felt by the Palestinians is a tragedy and a crime against humanity. We must unite and take a more effective joint stance," said President Prabowo.

He stated that Indonesia is ready to play an active role in supporting the Palestinian people, including in humanitarian missions.

President Prabowo also stated Indonesia's stance of always being with the Palestinian people.

"On many occasions, I have said that we are willing to send a significant number of peacekeeping troops if conditions permit and of course with the agreement of the GCC countries," he said.

Furthermore, the President also conveyed Indonesia's readiness to provide medical assistance.

"And also accept Palestinian patients who need treatment, and will provide health services in our hospitals," he said.

On that occasion, Prabowo revealed that he had made direct visits to several GCC countries to align collective steps in responding to the tragedy in Palestine.

The Head of State emphasized that ASEAN and the GCC have a moral responsibility to encourage a peaceful resolution there.

"Indonesia calls for stronger support from ASEAN and the GCC for a peaceful resolution and reconstruction of Palestine, based on a two-state solution with Al-Quds as the capital of an independent Palestine," he concluded.
