Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The West Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police have deployed 289 officers to secure 47 temples in the area ahead of the 2025 Lunar New Year celebrations from Tuesday to Wednesday as thousands of people are expected to attend the celebrations.
“We have deployed 289 officers from the police offices to guard these temples,” said Senior Superintendent Twedi Aditya Bennyhadi, the Chief of West Jakarta Police, during a visit to Dharma Bakti Temple in Tamansari, West Jakarta, on Tuesday (28/1/2025).
He added that the police had already conducted inspections of several major temples in the area, starting from 8 am to check for any potential threats.
“We’ve conducted sweeps for dangerous items that could harm visitors,” Chief Twedi noted, as quoted by antaranews.com.
To address traffic congestion around the temples, he told the public that traffic management will be adjusted as needed.
“We will reroute traffic if needed,” he said, urging visitors to follow police instructions for a smooth experience.
