Inp.polri.go.id - Manokwari. The West Papua Regional Police distributed humanitarian aid to hundreds of internally displaced persons from the Moskona District on Friday.

"We distributed 350 food packages to displaced families to alleviate their burden while we work toward restoring regional security," Brigadier General Alfred Papare, the West Papua Police Chief, confirmed, as cited by antaranews.com on Saturday (21/2/2026)..

Accompanied by local officials, he said that the government is committed to reclaiming safety in the Moskona District so residents can return to their villages.  The residents, currently sheltered in Bintuni Bay, fled their homes following increased activity by armed criminal groups (KKB) in the region.

To fortify the area against further insurgent disruptions, the police plan to establish three new Mobile Brigade (Brimob) outposts in North Moskona. This dual approach of humanitarian support and enhanced security measures aims to accelerate social recovery and ensure long-term stability for the impacted communities in Bintuni Bay, Chief Alfred said.
