Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto said that Indonesia respected the US Supreme Court's decision to overturn President Donald Trump’s reciprocal tariff policies.
Speaking from Washington D.C. on Saturday (21/2/2026), he emphasized that Jakarta remains prepared for any shifts in global trade dynamics following the 6-3 court ruling that limited presidential authority under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).
"We are ready for all possibilities and respect the internal politics of the United States," Prabowo Prabowo told reporters, as cited by antaranews.com.
Despite the ruling, President Trump immediately countered with a 10% "temporary global tariff," a move President Prabowo characterized as "advantageous" compared to previous uncertainties.
Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto clarified that bilateral agreements, including zero-percent tariffs for Indonesian coffee, cocoa, and electronics, remain on track and will undergo a 60-day ratification period.
Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya noted that earlier diplomacy had already reduced potential tariffs from 32% to 19%, making the new 10% baseline a more favorable starting point for Indonesian exports.
