Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Yogyakarta administration has called for a comprehensive assessment of children following a police raid on the Little Aresha Daycare on Friday in a bid to address the long-term impact on victims after investigators uncovered systemic physical and verbal abuse.
"The impact on children varies depending on their individual circumstances," said Erlina Hidayati Sumardi, the Head of the Yogyakarta Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Agency on Sunday (26/4/2026), as reported by antaranews.com. "These effects can manifest psychologically, as well as in their health and development. Therefore, a thorough assessment is necessary."
Yogyakarta City Sub-regional Police Chief Superintendent Eva Guna Pandia confirmed that 53 out of 103 children enrolled at the facility were verified victims of abuse and neglect.
The case came to light after a former employee reported inhumane treatment to the authorities. The Yogyakarta administration has confirmed that all recovery costs, including trauma healing for parents and medical care for the children, will be fully funded by the state.
