Inp.polri.go.id - Yogyakarta. The Yogyakarta Regional Police have deployed 980 officers for “Operasi Zebra Progo 2025,” a two-week nationwide traffic enforcement campaign running from 17 to 30 November 2025.

The operation aims to improve road discipline and reduce accidents across the province.

“These efforts are carried out to create order and strengthen public discipline in road traffic,” Yogyakarta Police Chief Inspector General Anggoro Sukartono said during the operation’s launch ceremony on Monday (17/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.

The annual enforcement drive targets underage drivers, motorcycles carrying more than one passenger, riders without SNI-standard helmets, motorists not wearing seat belts, and traffic flow violators. Officers will prioritize pre-emptive and preventive measures, supported by manual ticketing, electronic enforcement, and on-the-spot warnings.

Police will also crack down on speeding, drunk driving, and mobile phone use behind the wheel. Street racing, which is considered a major public nuisance, has been flagged for special attention.

Chief Anggoro emphasized professionalism and strict internal supervision, reminding all officers to uphold the “zero accident” principle to protect both police personnel and the public.
