Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and the Russian government have completed a week-long joint training program aimed at boosting law-enforcement capacity in drug-crime investigations.
The Investigative Interviewing and Counter Illicit Drug Trafficking Training was held on 10 to 14 November 2025 at BNN’s Human Resources Training Center in Lido, West Java.
“This training not only enhances the skills of Indonesian law-enforcement officers, especially in investigative interviewing and countering illicit drug trafficking, but also serves as a strategic platform that strengthens bilateral relations and supports sustained international cooperation,” BNN Chief Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto said in a statement on Monday (17/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
The program involved 43 personnel from national and provincial BNN offices and featured instructors and official delegates from the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. Participants received training on cross-border narcotics networks, cyber-enabled drug crimes, and modern investigative practices.
Russian Ambassador Sergei Tolchenov praised the initiative, calling it a concrete commitment by both nations to confront increasingly complex narcotics threats. The training also marked the first joint exercise of its kind held in Indonesia, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of Indonesia–Russia diplomatic ties.
