Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Director General of Immigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, has issued a stern warning to foreigners in Indonesia, emphasizing that there is no room for compromise regarding immigration violations.
"I have ordered all ranks to act decisively without compromise," he said on Tuesday (5/5/2026), responding to the "Dharma Dewata" Patrol Task Force operation in Bali, which detained 62 foreigners for various legal infractions.
Hendarsam clarified that foreigners who disrupt national stability have only two choices: comply with Indonesian regulations or leave the country immediately. While Indonesia remains open to high-quality tourists and investors who contribute positively, those who disrespect the law will face strict administrative and legal sanctions.
The Dharma Dewata Task Force, formed on 15 April 2026, focuses on monitoring hotspots in Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Ngurah Rai Airport, Denpasar, and Singaraja. The 62 detained foreigners are currently being investigated for offenses including overstaying, providing false data for visa applications, and working illegally.
Felucia Sengky Ratna, the Head of the Bali Immigration Regional Office, confirmed that the offenders face severe penalties, ranging from detention and deportation to being blacklisted from re-entering Indonesia.
