inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. An explosion, allegedly from a gas cylinder leak at the Taman Kencana Housing Complex on Kaliandra Street, Blok C7, on Thursday (8/1/2024).

The Head of Metro Jaya Regional Police Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi says that the explosion occurred at 05.00 a.m. The explosion came from a house no. 32 and damaged 10 surrounding houses and one mosque.

“The explosion damaged 10 houses and one small mosque. Meanwhile two buildings were heavily damaged” said Ade in a written statement on Thursday (8/1/2024).

Ade says there are injured victims due to the explosion. The injured are the seven residents of a house in Kaliandra V street, Blok C6, Number 12. The seven residents consist of three adults and four children.

Currently the injured victims are being treated at Cengkareng Hospital and PIK Hospital.

On the other hand, initial police investigation reveals the cause of the incidents was the gas leak from a 12 kilogram gas cylinder.
