inp.polri.go.id - Russian rockets hit an apartment in Donetsk, Ukraine on Saturday (9/7). This attack left at least a dozen people dead and dozens trapped. Donetsk Governor Pavlo Kyrylenko said the five-story apartment in the town of Chasiv Yar collapsed after being hit by Russian rockets, leaving dozens of people dead and at least 34 trapped in the rubble. Quoted from AFP, the latest update of the rescue mission carried out on Sunday (10/7) managed to find 15 bodies in the apartment. In addition, the rescue team also managed to rescue five people alive among the rubble. "During the rescue operation, 15 bodies were found at the scene and five people were pulled out of the rubble," the Ukrainian emergency services office said on Facebook. Despite killing civilians, Russia says it is carrying out a "special military operation" to demilitarize Ukraine, and denies deliberately attacking civilians. The provinces of Luhansk and Donetsk, which were partly controlled by pro-Russian separatists before the conflict began, are industrial arease that Russia is seeking to take over. According to the Ukrainian military, Russian troops attacked Ukraine near the city of Sloviansk in Donetsk but were forced to withdraw. They also said Russian troops had launched a cruise missile attack on the northeastern city of Kharkiv from their side of the border, but they have not provided details of damage and casualties from this attack. The governor of the Luhansk region Serhiy Gaidai said Russian troops had gathered in the area of the village of Bilohorivka, about 50 kilometers east of Sloviansk. "The enemy opened fire on the surrounding settlements, carried out air strikes, but still could not quickly occupy the entire Luhansk region," he said on Telegram. "During the night alone, Russia launched seven rounds of artillery and four rocket attacks," he added. Russia itself claimed control of the entire Luhansk province at the weekend. Meanwhile, on Saturday (9/7), Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy accused Russian troops of deliberately attacking civilians, although they denied what he was doing.
