Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) has provided aid package to 18 victims of Human Trafficking Crimes (TPPO) who were trafficked to Singapore. This aid was given at the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Body (BP2MI) shelter. "We aim to ensure the victims receive protection and have their rights fulfilled. Until now, we have seen that the assistance (provided) has been quite general," stated Ratna Susianawati, Deputy for Women's Rights Protection at the Ministry of PPPA, when contacted in Jakarta on Tuesday (8/22/23). She explained that the specific assistance provided aims to meet the basic needs of female victims, including sarongs, blankets, shawls, dresses, underwear, innerwear, towels, sanitary pads, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and sandals. The recipients of this aid are victims of TPPO with the modus operandi of illegal non-procedural migrant work to Singapore. These victims were promised high-paying jobs. She stated that the provision of dignity kits for female victims of violence is in line with the mandate of Presidential Regulation (PP) Number 7 of 2023, which amends PP Number 65 of 2020 concerning the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, Article 3, Section (d). As a ministry with an additional function, the PPPA Ministry provides final referral services for female victims of violence who require support and coordination at the national level, inter-provincial coordination, international coordination, and inter-agency multi-sectoral coordination as required by the victims, in accordance with applicable terms and conditions. "To all Indonesian citizens who witness, hear, or are aware of any form of violence, including TPPO, they can immediately report it to the Women and Children's Friend Service (SAPA) through the call center at 129, or via WhatsApp at 08111-129-129," Ratna said.
